Training for an endurance event is often challenging, but doing so for a meaningful cause makes achieving your personal fitness goals even more triumphant. On Saturday, August 3rd, The Hamilton Area Trail Runs Team comprised of Bill Scannon, Bill Yorke, Butch Cuilla, Frank Sconzo, Linda Cuilla, Mariana Garcia-Orihel and Michael Lieberman will be participating in the 18th Annual River to Sea Relay in honor of a family friend Samara Sheller; Samara is a 7 year old above the knee amputee battling Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare aggressive cancer.
Beginning in Milford on the Delaware River and ending near the beach in Manasquan, each member of HATR will run 2 stages of the 91 mile relay, which travels through 34 towns in Hunterdon, Mercer, Somerset, Middlesex and Monmouth counties. Together these teammates are committed to completing this vigorous relay, while spreading the message that with motivation, endurance and encouragement from loved ones, anything is possible. Samara's challenges and ultimate accomplishments in both her physical and mental health over this past year are living proof of this.
Please consider making a donation to The Liddy Shriver Sarcoma Initiative, whose mission is to improve the quality of life for people living with sarcomas around the world. The Initiative increases public awareness of sarcoma, raises funds to award research grants and provides timely information to sarcoma patients, their families and medical professionals.
Donate in honor of The Hamilton Area Trail Runs Team. Donate in honor of Samara Sheller. Or donate in the spirit of goodwill because you too believe that when we support one another, anything is possible.
