4,500 CHILDREN WILL DIE TODAY FROM WATER RELATED DISEASES
Right now, almost a billion people on the planet don’t have access to clean drinking water. That’s 1 in 8 of us. Unsafe water and lack of basic sanitation cause 80% of all sickness and disease and kill more people every year than all forms of violence including war. Children are especially vulnerable, as their bodies aren’t strong enough to fight diarrhea, dysentery and other illnesses. Of the 42,000 deaths that occur every week from unsafe water, 90% are children under 5 years old. But these diseases are preventable. Glitter Lemonade is sponsoring a freshwater well through Charity Water, a non-profit organization bringing clean drinking water to people in developing nations. Livia has donated her 7th birthday to help raise money to fund this well, which will provide a village of 250 people with safe drinking water for the next 20 years; her birthday wish is for you to visit www.glitterlemonade.com/campaign/livia and make a contribution. Help our family celebrate Livia’s life, by saving somebody else’s.
